Dome Top Grecian Metal Embossed Pattern Trunk
Circa 1880 - 1899

This is a embossed metal-covered dome top trunk. The wood trunk features horizontal hardwood slats with cast iron latches, and lovely leaf vine embossing on the front, top, sides and back is in the Grecian pattern. The lock mechanism is original and we do have the key. The embossed part of this trunk is painted steel gray for the background and a warm brushed silver for the relief, or the pattern, and the remaining areas are painted satin black. This trunk has a tray that is original and we have left the original lid on one of the compartments and preserved the original lid picture. This is a wonderful example of the beauty of an embossed metal trunk and would be a wonderful addition to anyone's home.
