| Beautiful Antique Mexican Type Trunk | |

Here is a beautiful pine trunk which would make a great coffee table. We have seen several like this which were M exican Antique trunks, which is why we believe it to be one. This trunk has a slightly curved top but the middle slat running the full length of the trunk on the very top is flat, which is unusual. The flat center slat is 3.5 inches wide making it a great candidate for a coffee table with a few of your decorative elements placed on the center of this old immigrant trunk. It is circa 1880-1890 and is all wood with one iron lock (no key) in the center with a very nice lock escutcheon on the front. It also has large wonderful Dove tail corners which gives this trunk immense character. There are the natural signs of age as with most early trunks, but that just adds to the beauty of this trunk. This trunk at one time had been painted a few different colors but once we got down to the bare wood a beautiful green patina from the first painting of this trunk appeared. So we left some of the green patina on the trunk and it turned out gorgeous. We have hand rubbed a Bee’s Wax to finish this trunk, inside and out, and it is just a beauty. It is now ready to begin another Legacy in your home. Size: 39 ½
