Here is a spacious and beautiful American Wooden Flat Top, slightly curved (approx 1/4 rise) Travel Trunk from the 1800's. The oak slats compliment the wonderful solid pine wood, and really showcases the superb construction by the master craftsmen of the time. This trunk has been professionally restored trunk at Legacy Trunks, and is very strong and solid. The interior has been stripped to eliminate any musty odor, then cleaned inside and out, hand-sanded, and finished with multiple coats of Stain/ sealer, Varnish, and Beeswax. Black paint was used on the outside trim and all latches, edge clamps, and hinges were painted in gold It comes with it's original solid lock that functions, but we do not have a key. This trunk is in very good condition . The top of the trunk also has a crack in the wood but the wood slat staves are intact therefore not compromising any of the trunks structural integrity. The color is rich and very attractive. The hardware is original except the leather handles which we replaced. The bottom of the trunk is also very solid and has beautiful wood as well. This trunk is well built and should hold up for another 100 years to continue its Legacy. This would make a Great table, Coffee table or accent piece for the foot of a bed. The box measures 32 inches long , 18 inches wide, and 21 inches tall.
